The final day of The King and Queen’s State Visit to South Africa included seminars on research and education, a guided tour of the Uitsig Clinic and a visit with young sailors at the Zeekovlei Yacht Club.

Environment-friendly office building
On Tuesday Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Prince and Crown Princess attended the opening of Pannon House in Budapest, a new office building that aims to be the most environment-friendly in Hungary.
Finals at the Opera House
Her Majesty the Queen was in attendance at the finals of the Queen Sonja International Music Competition at the new Opera House in Oslo on 21 August. Baritone Seung Gi Jung of South Korea won the competition, and was awarded the prize by the Queen herself.
Grant awards announced
The recipients of grants from Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s Humanitarian Fund for 2009 were announced at an event at the House of Literature in Oslo on 27 August.
The Crown Prince in Afghanistan
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon visited Afghanistan on 24 August with General Sverre Diesen. The Crown Prince received an introduction into the contribution of the Norwegian Armed Forces to stabilising and rebuilding the country.
