Christmas greetings
Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Prince and Crown Princess and their children have been travelling since the end of November. In the state of Sikkim in northeastern India they were joined by a crew from the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) and sent a Christmas greeting of video and photographs back home to Norway.
Nobel Peace Prize 2010
Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja attended the 10 December ceremony to mark the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2010 to Chinese human rights activist Liu Xiaobo.

At Ground Zero
Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited Ground Zero in Manhattan this morning. The Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta won the prestigious commission to design the Museum Pavilion located in the Memorial Plaza.
Scandinavians in New York
The Crown Prince and Crown Princess are on a two-day visit to New York to mark the centennial anniversary of the American-Scandinavian Foundation. They will also be attending other Nordic-related events as well as participating in meetings with UNDP and UNAIDS.

Visit concluded in Banská tiavnica
On the final day of their State Visit to Slovakia Their Majesties The King and Queen visited the former mining town of Banská Štiavnica, which is home to a sizeable aluminium production industry. The Norwegian companies Hydro and Orkla are both involved in the region.
"Good deeds save the world"
His Majesty quoted the Norwegian author Bjørnson during the opening of the Norwegian-Slovak seminar on corporate social responsibility this morning. Bjørnson was also on the agenda later in the day when an exhibition dedicated to the writer was officially opened.
State Visit to Slovakia
Their Majesties The King and Queen commenced their State Visit to the Slovak Republic today. This is the first official Norwegian State Visit to the republic since it was established in 1993. The King and Queen were formally welcomed at the presidential palace in Bratislava.
Swiss light art and technology
The Palace was illuminated yesterday by Swiss light artist Gerry Hofstetter, during the gala dinner in honour of President Leuthard and Dr Hausin. This morning, the state visit continued with the opening of a seminar on medical technology.

The 155th Storting opened
His Majesty King Harald officially opened the Norwegian Storting (Parliament) today. The 2010-2011 session of the Storting is the 155th since its inception, and the proceedings follow a fixed ceremony laid down in the Constitution.
Visit to a refugee camp in Kenya
This week, Her Majesty The Queen visited the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya in connection with Norway’s annual television fundraiser, whose proceeds this year will go to the Norwegian Refugee Council. Queen Sonja is the Royal Patron of the fundraising event.
Presentation of the Kavli Prize
On Tuesday His Majesty King Harald presented the Kavli Prize for outstanding research in the fields of astrophysics, nanoscience and neuroscience. The awards were presented during a gala event held at Oslo Concert Hall.
Opening of ONS 2010
On Tuesday afternoon, His Majesty The King opened ONS 2010 in Stavanger, an exhibition, conference and festival in Stavanger that has served as a key international meeting place for the oil and alternative energy industries since its establishment in 1974.
