Condolences from His Majesty King Harald of Norway to the President of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Mamnoon Hussain.

Sunday brought a fantastic ending to a successful IBU World Championships Biathlon. His Majesty King Harald and Her Highness Princess Astrid, Mrs Ferner, have followed the competitions closely.

This week His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon completed and passed military static course and is now a certified military paratrooper.

On the occasion of Her Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra's 12th birthday, the Royal Court releases three new pictures of the Princess.

Several thousand people took part in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the ascension to the Norwegian throne of Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja today.  

King Olav V died on the evening of 17 January 1991. At that same moment, Crown Prince Harald became Norway’s new king: King Harald V. As the night passed, mourners began to fill the Palace Square with flowers and candles.

17 January 2016 marks the 25th anniversary of the ascension to the Norwegian throne of Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja. Below is an overview of activities to be held during the jubilee weekend.

Tonight is the final concert of the Queen Sonja International Music Competition (QSIMC). Her Majesty will be in attendance at the Opera House in Oslo where the five finalists will compete for prestige and prizes.
