The Crown Prince and Crown Princess in Davos

Some 260 seminars, discussions and other events will take place during the course of the meeting.

The programme of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2013 covers three pillars:

• Leading through Adversity
• Strengthening Societal Resilience
• Restoring Economic Dynamism

Young Global Leaders

Crown Prince Haakon is attending the Annual Meeting in his capacity as a member of the Young Global Leaders Foundation Board. On Wednesday, he moderated a seminar entitled “Leaders: Born or Made?” , with among others David R. Gergen, Director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University. With the exception of 2008, the Crown Prince has attended all of the Annual Meetings in Davos since 2005.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit is attending various seminars organised by the Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL), of which she has been a member since 2010. YGL’s members represent all regions of the world and hold leadership positions in the business, political, cultural and public spheres, academia, non-governmental organisations and the media. The forum comprises leaders under the age of 40 and is the most important voice for young people in the World Economic Forum.

World Economic Forum

Established in 1971, the Swiss foundation World Economic Forum brings together over 2 000 participants at its Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, where politicians, industry leaders, intellectuals and journalists from all over the world gather to discuss issues of global significance. This year’s meeting is being held from 22 to 26 January.
